The Sterile Barrier Association is an influential trade organisation for companies who produce sophisticated barrier materials, sterilisation systems and processing equipment for the medical industry allowing single use medical devices and products to be sterilised and then to maintain that sterility up to the point of use.

The mission of the SBA is to be the recognised expert association in the healthcare industry, promoting the use of and providing education on the most suitable single use sterile barrier systems to ensure patient safety.

The role of the Association is to:

• Promote the industry

• Create a supportive and informative environment to drive innovation in the technology associated with the production of Sterile Barrier Systems.

• Promote high product standards and manufacturing excellence in the industry.

• Educate customers and end users in the safe use of sterile barrier systems.

• Communicate with bodies and organisations responsible for developing and influencing the development of new and changing legislation and standards and provide experts to participate in the process.
